Supporting communication

There’s nothing more empowering than communicating confidently. At KEO, we’re here to help you do just that. Using a personalised, goal-driven approach, we can help you articulate your sounds, find your words – and improve your reading, writing and language skills.

Swallowing & meal time management

Our speech pathologists can help assess and address any challenges that you may be experiencing relating to drinking, eating and swallowing. We can also assist if you have a child who is a fussy eater – and help make family mealtimes a more relaxed and positive experience for all.

Augmentative & alternative communication

Augmentative & alternative communication (AAC) can make a world of difference to your ability to communicate. At KEO, our speech pathologists have expertise in a range of AAC methods including sign language, gestures and communication books. We can also recommend assistive technology to enhance your communication.

Building social communication & relationships

Our speech pathologists can help improve your social participation at school, work and in the community. This may include things such as asking for something in a shop – or expressing and understanding emotions. We also work towards building the capacity of the people around you so that you can engage in your environment in a positive and meaningful way.

The Hanen Program®
– More Than Words®

Does your child find social interactions challenging? Do you find it hard to connect and have meaningful exchanges with your child? The More Than Words® Program is designed for parents of children under six years of age with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other social communication challenges. This program provides parents with tools, strategies and support to help their child reach their full communication and play potential. The small parent groups offer support from other parents, as well as the expertise of a trained Hanen® Speech Pathologist.
