Reflect and Celebrate
As we come to the close of 2024, it’s a time to reflect on all that has been achieved over the past year at KEO. I have such an appreciation for the amazing people that I get to work with and see in their element supporting others on a daily basis.
As the KEO team continues to grow, I am grateful to continue to see the core values of connection, kindness, lifelong learning and striving for excellence demonstrated each and every day, across the team. Over the year we have continued to think critically about why we do things the way we do, updating processes and procedures as required, to ensure that the supports we provide continue to follow best-practice and support our participants to achieve their goals. Seeing our therapists highlight the wins they have had throughout the year with their participants and as individuals is always so special.
Another element that has always been a focus at KEO is supporting team members to make sure their roles work for them in all areas of life. We have had a big year for new babies at KEO with ten little ones being welcomed across the team this year! As we see new mums and dads transitioning back into work following the arrivals of their new family members and some bonding time, it is wonderful to see the range of options available for new parents to ease the transition. Thinking back to the KEO family day we enjoyed in May, it will be lovely to see all these new faces at the next one.
Our team building day brought us all together at Melbourne Zoo this year, and we looked internally, getting to know our directors a bit better, as well as having the chance to work together on creating and solving our zoo-based scavenger hunts (where we got a little damp in the rain!). We closed out the day by creating space to consider the theme of self-compassion, how we approach self-care, and personal goals in this area moving forward into the end of the year and on to 2025.
We will get together as a whole team once more before the end of the year at our team Christmas party on the last workday of the year. This is always a great time to celebrate together and show appreciation for the fantastic team we have.
As we rapidly approach the start of 2025, we look forward to an exciting time and ongoing opportunities at KEO Care. I’m eager to see what the year ahead brings for both the KEO team and the communities we serve.
